Introducing Open, a new project that has been formed through the merge of RSS3, RSSHub, Open Information Initiative, and several other crucial technical modules.

*RSS3: founded in 2021, RSS3 is the largest information network in Web3 with over 80 nodes covering over 2 billion activities. It operates a blockchain, RSS3 VSL, with its token $RSS3.

**RSSHub: started in 2018, RSSHub is the largest RSS network with over 5,000 instances serving over 255k MAUs. RSSHub has over 1,000 contributors (vs 500+ for Solana).

Open

Open accelerates the Open Web with information abstraction and compute abstraction:

Infrastructure

Open offers information abstraction, compute abstraction, and a series of endeavors to grow the value and ecosystem of the Open Web.

Collectively, Open aligns resources and incentives within the Open Web ecosystem, bringing hundreds of millions of existing Open Web users (e.g. RSS and ActivityPub users) to crypto technology, and enhancing the Open Web for greater capabilities and innovations.

Information Abstraction

Protocols, platforms, and applications across the Web offer an abundance of information, which has enabled the development of modern news apps, search engines, AI models, and much more. However, harnessing this resource effectively remains a challenge due to its decentralized and misaligned nature.

Open Node, created by combining the capabilities of RSSHub* and RSS3**, covers open information across the internet, forming an abstracted information ecosystem that empowers open applications to compete with centralized platforms.

Compute Abstraction

A task as simple as calculating Pi is not feasible on Ethereum. Layer 2s make transactions faster but the compute capability remains unchanged. Current scaling solutions work toward parallelization, Compute Abstraction ****takes a different approach to ****enable high performance compute on any blockchains. It empowers developers to build Open apps that utilize external verifiable and deterministic compute like AO, Gensyn, and Open Nodes, without losing security and transparency.

Intensive compute tasks such as AI training and inference are made truly decentralized for the first time. A simple demo on Compute Abstraction can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7G_bDfdOiU4
